You are the one who swiped that card and so you are the one to blame for your own credit card debt. Therefore, the only one who can decide to get out of credit card debt is ultimately you. If you decide to do so, getting rid of credit card debt is easy.
There are many books, seminars and tutorials online and beyond that offer solutions on how to get rid of credit card debt. Some financial institutions and debt relief institutions also offer credit counseling for those who are seriously thinking about getting rid of credit card debt.
If you want to know how to get rid of credit card debt fast, you have to make the decision now. You also have to research the best way that would fit your lifestyle and budget. However, I can offer a few tips to help you get started.
1. STOP USING THAT CREDIT CARD. Once you decide that you are getting rid of credit card debt, the first thing you have to do is to cut that credit card up. It may sound really harsh but you have to do it. If you have no credit card anymore, you have no more reason to use it and to add to the already huge debt that you have.
2. GET ORGANIZED. You have to collect all of the bills. (Yes, even those hiding under the bed and in the corners of your closet behind that ugly paisley dress) and lay them out one by one. Find out how much you owe for each credit card, when they are due, interest rates and how much the minimum payment for each is.
3. PLAN A BUDGET AND STICK TO IT. The next step is to write up your budget for the next few months that includes the monthly payments to your credit cards and print it out to stick to your refrigerator or anywhere that you can always see it. This will reinforce the idea that you have to stick to your budget and live life only within your allotted budget.
These are only a few of the many things you can do to help yourself get financial solvency. Remember that it is YOU who makes that decision and that you should be the one to change your life.
